Introduction

Scottish Borders Tour
As we set of from Musselburgh Racecourse, the trip heads due south into the valleys and hills of the Scottish borders. Traditionally a rural farming area, the borders has some of the most beautiful vistas and natural features in Scotland. This is the land that inspired Sir Walter Scott to write his works that have gone on to popularise Scotland world wide.
Flying through the borders we will see the borders towns of Galashiels, Selkirk, Kelso and Melrose with it’s famous Abbey. Famous sights include the Eildon Hills, Floors Castle, Scott’s view and Thirlstaine Castle to name but a few. Some trips also include a fly past of Scotland’s oldest house at Traquair and Sir Walter Scott’s house at Abbotsford.
As we fly north again to the helipad keep an eye out for the construction of the ‘Waverly Route’ a railway project to reopen the Victorian train link with the region. Your friendly pilot will provide a running commentary throughout the trip.
