About Your Experience
Introduction
Welcome onboard this helicopter scenic tour of Greenock, Gourock and Inverkip. This helicopter sight seeing trip is an amazing and different way to experience Scotland from above, onboard our luxury helicopter.
Greenock, Gourock & Inverkip Tour
This helicopter tour of the Clyde Estuary is an exhilarating trip over one of Scotland’s areas of outstanding natural beauty and an important part of our maritime past.
Flying from the helipad adjacent Glasgow airport this trip flies down river to the town and port of Greenock. Home to James Watt, the famous Scottish inventor Greenock was the epicenter of the Scottish Ship building industry and now has booming dock and cruise line traffic. See these large ships come in and out of port as you fly out into the firth of Clyde.
From here you will be able to see north and keep an eye out for the ‘sugar boat’ below which capsized in the middle of the Clyde Estuary in the 1960’s. As you fly down the Clyde see Gourock, Inverkip and Port Glasgow as well as the famous Inverkip Power Station, only used 3 times in 40 years.
Your friendly pilot will offer a running commentary through the helicopters headphone system.
