About Your Experience
Introduction
Welcome onboard this helicopter scenic tour of East Lothian. This helicopter sight seeing trip is an amazing and different way to experience Scotland from above, onboard our luxury helicopter.
East Lothian helicopter tour
The flat agricultural lands that lie to the East of Edinburgh make up East Lothian, a quiet and picturesque region on the Firth of Forth (Forth Estuary). This helicopter scenic tour is a coastal trip showing you the sights of this friendly region from above.
As you set of from the helipad fly towards the dramatic coastline of East Lothian. Immediately the volcanic features of the region become apparent including the huge volcanic plugs of the Bass Rock and North Berwick Law that stand on the coast and in the water at North Berwick.
As we fly along the coast golden sands make way for cliff faces as we pass ruined Tantallon Castle and the Torness Nuclear power station. Spot landmarks including the famous East Fortune airfield, home to the Museum Of Flight and location for our microlight flight experience. Flying past Dunbar we fly inland to Glenkinchie whisky distillery and the county town Haddington.
Throughout this trip you’ll be looking down on patchwork fields and narrow lanes, linking the small villages and hamlets of the region.
Your friendly pilot will provide a running commentary throughout the trip.
