About Your Experience

Stretch your wings with our extended microlight experience. From our traditional grass airfield at Strathaven, just over half an hour from Glasgow and less than an hour from Edinburgh, you will get a fantastic view of Scotland's glorious scenery. On a clear day, you can see from Arran to the Bass Rock.
Not only will you will experience for yourself the fantastic feeling of flying in one of these quirky and robust aircraft, you'll be given the opportunity to have lots of hands-on experience at flying the aircraft yourself.

After a briefing on your flight and carrying out full preflight safety checks you’ll taxi out for take off. You’ll be able to hear your pilot talking to air traffic control and other aircraft! Once you are airborne you’ll climb to over 2000 foot. Up here you’ll experience panoramic views across Ayrshire and the Clyde valley.

During your flight you’ll have the opportunity to fly past the famous landmarks in the area, including Bothwell Castle, New Lanark and the Falls of Clyde. Your itinery is agreed before your flight and you can even request a fly past of your home! All routes are subject to weather and air traffic control approval.

And if this flight leaves you wanting to earn your wings, it counts towards the 25 hours minimum training required. You can take your camera on the flight as long as it has somewhere to fit a safety strap to. Throughout your flight you will be able to talk to your pilot through the intercom system.
