About Your Experience
Situated only 17 miles north of Glasgow Glengoyne Distillery is found nestled in a tranquil glen, a stones throw from picturesque Loch Lomond. The distillery's heritage dates back almost 200 years but the history, knowledge and techniques remain to make this one of the most popular whisky distilleries in Scotland.
The Master Class
Undoubtedly our best whisky experience, the Glengoyne Master Class is an experience that novice and experienced whisky connoisseurs will enjoy. At the start of the experience you’ll meet in the visitor centre at foot of Glengoyne Waterfall, where the water to go into the whisky was originally sourced. Here you will sample the delights of the Glengoyne 17 year old single malt. Relax by this natural wonder and take in the environment and the subtle taste of the whisky.
Distillery Tour
Your tour of the distillery is an ‘access all areas’ trip, learning about the distilling processes that produce the final product. Once you’ve visited the main distillery you’ll visit the bonded warehouse where you will learn about the aging process. This area of the distillery is usually out of bounds to the public.
During the tour you’ll receive a full presentation on the whisky making and maturing process and an overview of the different whisky regions in Scotland. You’ll be able to put your new knowledge to use immediately by tasting three of the finest Glengoyne Single Cask whiskies. Ask your expert guide questions about Glengoyne and the Whiskies produced.
Create your own blend
Then it's your turn to create and sample your own blend. This is a truly unique experience in itself and allows you to get a real appreciation of the process. You're blend will be bottled for you, complete a personalised label in a 200ml bottle to take home. You will be presented with a bottle of Glengoyne 10 year old Single Highland malt, a certificate and a cellar book record as a memento of the day.
