About Your Experience
Introduction
Welcome onboard this helicopter scenic tour of Loch Lomond. This helicopter sight seeing trip is an amazing and different way to experience Scotland from above, onboard our luxury helicopter.
Loch Lomond Helicopter Scenic Tour
This tour focuses on the beautiful Loch Lomond National Park area. The national park was set up in 2004 to protect and preserve this area of outstanding natural beauty and now this new helicopter scenic tour enables you to see it from a new perspective.
Immediately after take off, Loch Lomond comes into view as we fly over the picturesque towns of Killearn, Dymen and Rowardennan. Flying up the east bank of the loch you’ll see the path of the highland fault line that runs directly through the loch. The string of islands that form the fault line can be seen to the left as we fly north.
If the weather allows we fly right to the summit of Ben Lomond, the highest mountain in the area at 3200 foot. From here we fly 27 miles to the northern tip of Loch Lomond and onto Arrochar. From here we see the Cobbler mountain and the famous ‘Rest and be thankful’ mountain pass, that has taken travelers to the western highlands for hundreds of years.
Your friendly pilot will provide a running commentary throughout the trip.
