30 minute hands-on light aircraft flight from Cumbernauld airport.

About Your Experience

Welcome aboard this amazing trial flying lesson experience from Cumbernauld Airport, North of Glasgow. This experience offers the thrill of actually flying a light aircraft over Scotland!

First there is a 20 minute safety briefing and familiarisation of the aircraft. You'll be asked if there is anything you want to see specifically in the area for a fly-past as part of your experience. Then you are good to go on your 30 minute flight. Onboard your instructor will do pre-flight checks, start the plane, taxi to the runway and take off.

Once in the air, the plane will climb to around 2000 foot and around 120mph. Once at cruising altitude you will be offered the opportunity to take the controls of the aircraft. Put it though maneuvers such as cruising, climbing and banking, all under the safe supervision of the instructor.

You’ll get amazing panoramic views of the area including local towns, railways, the motorway and landscape as you fly past. See landmarks such as Stirling castle, the Wallace monument, the Falkirk wheel and the Antonine wall. The aircraft’s panoramic windows allow you to view right around the world beneath you.

You’ll be able to communicate with the instructor through the aircraft radio and will also hear the air traffic control and other aircraft in the area.
