About Your Experience
Introduction
Welcome onboard this helicopter scenic tour of the forth bridges and Firth of Forth. This helicopter sight seeing trip is an amazing and different way to experience Scotland from above, onboard our luxury helicopter.
Helicopter tour of the Forth Bridges
Departing from Musselburgh Race course, you’ll fly towards the forth bridges. As you climb out you will first get excellent views looking down on Edinburgh International Airport. As you head overland towards the forth bridges you’ll fly over Dalmeny House, Hopetoun House and enjoy views over South Queensferry.
Flying out next to the Firth Of Forth you’ll witness the Victorian Engineering feat that is the Forth Railway Bridge. Opened in March 1890, the bridge is now widely regarded as one of the engineering marvels of the world and you will get amazing photo opportunities.
You’ll also fly across to the more recent (1964) Forth Road Bridge, which carries traffic North from Edinburgh into Fife. You will also get a great perspective of the arteries of the two structures and the planned third crossing of the Forth, due for completion in 2017.
From here you will also get views North to Rosyth Naval base and Dunfermline. If you are lucky you’ll also see one of the many shipping movements in this area, including the Superfast Ferry and Cruise Liners anchored in the Firth.
