About Your Experience

Experience the thrill of scuba diving and swimming with sharks as you dive into the deep shark infested waters for a once in a lifetime experience at Deep Sea World, North Queensferry.

The 4.5 million litre underwater Safari is home to one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks, as well as 2000 other fish from rays to crabs. This experience is unique in Scotland, an amazing never to be forgotten gift experience for all occasions. You don’t require to have any qualifications or experience to enjoy the adrenaline rush of shark diving at Deep Sea World so it’s open to just about everyone. Full training is given on the day and all necessary equipment is provided.

After arrival, a full safety briefing and training is given and then you are kitted up in the latest equipment for your safety and comfort, with a dry suit and SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) gear together with a diving cylinder containing over 2000 litres of air, a diving regulator that allows you to breathe the air underwater and a buoyancy control device that works almost like a life jacket and allows you to ascend and descend in the water.

Before entering the main aquarium, instruction is given in the training pool. Once you and the other two shark divers who accompany you on the trip are ready to take the plunge you’ll take your first step into shark-infested waters! You’ll be accompanied by fully qualified PADI divers at all times.

Get up close and personal with the sharks! A ten foot sand tiger shark passes close by. You’ll be thrilled, amazed and fascinated! These mystical fish are huge, swimming gracefully around the tank amongst the other sea creatures you’ll encounter. Rather than swimming, you’ll walk along the sea bed, giving you much better footing to experience everything around you. At the end of your dive you’ll swim to the surface, exit, change and shower.

Friends and family can watch the experience from the comfort of the underwater walkway, with it’s spacious observation areas. Two tickets are included in the price, more can be purchased on the day.

Important information
Please bring warm clothes with you on the day of your dive to wear under your dry suit. We recommend tracksuit bottoms, long sleeved t-shirts and warm socks! You’ll be given all safety and breathing apparatus and your safety is of paramount importance throughout the experience.
